The whole 30 km race of Saami Ski Race takes place in Norway. The track is in the middle of wilderness so skiers have to be prepared properly.
30 km race is like an outdoor skiing event in the middle of the wilderness. There are two points of service along the trail, but the distance of 10 km between them is long. So take enough to drink with you as well as warm clothes.
SKIING STYLE
The skiing style is free. It is possible to ski classic style on a groomed track.

START
On Saturday 28.3.2020 at 12:00 Norwegian time from Sitsajärvi crossing in Norway. You should come there by bus from Hetta or Kautokeino, because there is only a small parking area.
RACE OFFICE
The race office is located on Saturday in the starting area at Sitsajärvi crossing in Norway. It is open 10:00-12:00 Norwegian time. You can get to race office by bus from Hetta or from Kautokeino.
SKIING ROUTE
30 km skiing route goes from Sitsajärvi crossing via two service stops to Kautokeino finish area. Finish area is situated at the Kautokeino sportshall, Báktehárji, Báktevárri 5, 9520 Kautokeino.
SERVICE STOPS
Along the trail there is 2 service stops. Distance between them is about 10 km.
PRIZE CEREMONY
Prize giving ceremony will take place in Kautokeino finish area 14:00 – 15:00 Norwegian time.
BUS TIMETABLES
In the morning there is a bus going from Norway /Kautokeino and from Finland / Hetta to Sitsajärvi crossing. The bus is leaving from Hetta at 11:oo from Lapland Hotel Hetta via Jussantupa and School Centre Finnish time. From Kautokeino bus is leaving at 10:30 Norwegian time. Bus tickets from Hetta to Sitsajärvi crossing cost 13 € and from Kautokeino to the crossing 10 €. The tickets should be paid in advance online.
In the evening there will be several buses going from Kautokeino to Hetta. The more accurate timetable of these buses will be informed later. Bus tickets are 17 € and they should be paid online.
TRANSPORT OF EQUIPMENTS
In the Sitsajärvi crossing skiers can leave their equipment in a bus which transports equipment to Kautokeino finish line. Equipment will be put into a bag marked with participant’s name.
